Keeps Sand In

We took the same triple locking velcro closure from our Filler Bags and applied this to the closing on the med ball throat. Then we added another layer of velcro with paracord laces to tie it up tightly. The opening is finished off with a Closure Flap that velcros on top to make the ball smooth with no friction points.

No Zippers aka No Weak Points

Bang and throw your sand med ball around without the fear of crushed zippers. Velcro works every time and can withstand the beating you put on it during your workout.

Superior Construction

Primarily built from 1000 Denier Cordura, it is preferred material for all Special Forces Rucks because it is resistant to the rigors of everything, including war. It's tried and tested. It’s the material we trust for our rucks, so we trust it for our sand training equipment too. Our medicine balls are also constructed with a floating internal chamber (basically a floating liner) that allows for extra stretch internally and keeps any sand from getting out.

Leak-proof sand medicine ball

"This is the first sand medicine ball I have ever owned, though I have owned other traditional medicine balls, and I love it. I have yet to incorporate it into a workout, but frequently, when I walk by it in my garage, i do some cleans from the ground over my shoulder or even bear hug it and walk it back and forth a couple times. I have found no sand falling out and it’s no wonder why. There are so many different styles of closure on this that work together to make the sand stay put. Also, it can hold more than 70lbs of sand. I found this out when I filled it without a scale. At 60lbs is looses some of the rigidity it has at 70+ lbs but I think the irregular size will compensate for the lighter weight."

100 pound Medicine Ball

"New to sandbag training and was using an old military mobility bag half filled with sand, frustrating and annoying. The GORUCK bag is top quality material and very secure with several strong points of closure from velcro and string ties. Once filled the bag is tight and very maneuverable for great workouts. I would definitely recommend this bag!!!"

Solid Construction, Poor Velcro Design

"I really like this sandbag. I’ve used many other companies’ sandbags and this one seems on par with them. My issue with it is the top velcro closure. The velcro comes to the edge of the flap which leads to some gnarly scratches when carrying the bag in front of you or shouldering the bag. I’m thinking about sewing some felt around the edges to take the bite off."

Great 80#

"Love it. 80 pounds is heavy. Huah!"

Put in the work

"We have been using the medicine balls for a while now. Put them to work as soon as we got them. We love the product and the workouts you can accomplish are intense. Would highly recommend. Plan on buying my wife some weight appropriate products soon. Only problem we have experienced is with our 80lbs medicine ball. Some of the stitching has unraveled. Product still seems sturdy though. Not worried about it yet."

80 lbs & 100 lbs Sand Medicine Ball

"The GORUCK sand medicine balls are the best. I've used the 80 lbs. ball probably everyday for months & months now. Pick it up, sling it, slam it. It's even good to sit on like a beanbag chair. I really like the filler with paracord lace up instead of a zipper that's just gonna bust. I've beat the heck out this sandbag with never a leak. The material looks good, feels great, built as tough as can be, and perfect size. I didn't hesitate to buy the 100 lbs, medicine ball when I happened to see it on sale during Xmas in July. Five stars all around."

Pretty darn good piece of kit

"I also have a rogue sand ball, the fit and finish of the goruck I feel is superior, the way you fill it and the securment of the fill fuel is more robust than on the rogue. The goruck sand ball actually keeps the shape of a ball during use. A solid addition to my home gym"

This is my second medicine

"This is my second medicine ball purchase from GoRuck, along with multiple rucks and sandbags. As always, great and durable products."

Medicine for your core

"SO GOSH DARN STURDY i love it. I already had the sandbags with handles and they are great, but running with this ball is perfect for the core stabilizer muscles. Very happy ^_^"
