Padded laptop compartment

The separate compartment next to your back is extra reinforced to securely take a laptop into combat.

Zero Abrasion on Fabric & Skin

It has taken us over a decade to find a way to make the best rucksack of all time, GR1, even better. We added all-new 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA® on the back panel and underside of the shoulder straps that doesn't irritate skin or chew up apparel (looking at you, merino wool).

Opens Flat

Makes it easier to pack, organize, and find something when on the go. Special Forces medical rucks share a similar design.

Special Forces grade materials

1000 Denier Cordura is the preferred material for all Special Forces Rucks because it is resistant to the rigors of everything, including war. It's tried and tested.

Built in the USA

GORUCK uses construction techniques proven by Special Forces soldiers in the harshest environments on planet earth.

3 Interior Pockets

3 internal pockets: 1 large elastic pocket, 1 large mesh zippered pocket, and 1 small go-to pocket.

Frame Sheet for added stability

A removable, hard plastic frame sheet stabilizes the laptop compartment and allows you to carry more weight comfortably.

molle attachments

3 rows of external and internal MOLLE webbing let you customize GR1 how you want.

Padded straps & Handle

Shoulder straps and top handle are extra padded to carry heavier loads more comfortably.

Rainproof

Our rucks are highly water resistant aka rainproof.

Silent zipper pulls

YKK zippers with silent, glove friendly zipper pulls constructed from parachute 550 cord.

GR1 EXPLAINED

GR1 ORIGINS

Baghdad x NYC

I was living on my buddy’s couch in NYC with all my deployment gear, trying to figure out how to transition from the military world I missed to the civilian world I was in. I poured my heart into what became GR1 because it felt like I was building a bridge I desperately needed to cross in my life. To honor my roots but still look forward.
