A great secret weapon. . .

"Sometimes you want more than a trad. Bullet can carry, but not the full Monty of a GR1. This bad boy fits that need perfectly. All the usual exceptional quality and details. The interior pocket/compartment configuration is exceptionally flexible and well-thought out. I give it 10 stars!"

Best travel backpack

"I have used a plethora of backpacks over the years and travelled extensively. Recently I came across Goruck and decided to treat myself with an upgrade. The finish quality is second to none. It is both comfortable and spacious. It is a heavy bag for its size but you get peace of mind knowing your laptop is well protected. The one improvement I would like to see is for the bag to be able to stand flat on its base. Other than this, super happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone that prioritises quality, comfort and durability."

Like a compact GR2; excellent travel bag

"I previously bought a GR2, and liked it even more than expected. The only problem was that sometimes it was larger than I wanted, for example when it was time to stow it under the airplane seat in front of me. The Double Compartment Bullet has solved that problem: still enough space for my stuff including a well-protected laptop, plenty of organization pockets, but usefully smaller in size. As expected, the construction is top notch with rugged material and quality zippers that seem likely to last forever."

Great EDC and Travel Bag

"Excellent backpack for everyday use or travel. The double compartment allows me to organize all my photography gear perfectly, allowing me to be operational in the field without any problems and in any conditions and do my job the right way. I've also tested it in constant rain for several days. Excellent."

My current day bag

"Great little day pack. . . a favoritye now for day and overnight trips. . . wish there was some MOLLE on the inside and was 20mm wider, but outside that, zero complaints."

Outstanding build quality

"Compact, sleek daily carry. Built like a tank but comfortable to carry and easy to use. A little stiff and hard to access at first but it loosens up. Great for a day pack on a recent Poland trip."

Excellent EDC option, with one caveat

"So - I'll get right to the point. As a Goruck admirer from a far, I'd so far managed to stay away from full price purchases, but with the end of the year sale at hand, I picked up both a Rucker 4. 0 (see my review for that product elsewhere on the site) and a short time later, picked up the DC 18L Bullet Ruck for again, the sale price as 1) I prefer the cordura fabric for my EDC bags, and 2) it was a bit smaller than my current and would give me the option to downsize a bit to de-clutter my daily carry. While I was perfectly happy with my current EDC bag, its very work specific and I'd wanted something that would be a bit more universal in its use case - travel for short periods, daily carry, and weekend outings as the "hey we should bring this too" bag that every father finds himself in from time to time. After a bit of testing, I can confidently say the 18L Bullet Ruck will get the job done, and then some. The double compartments are where this bag shines, and while I don't by any stretch think I'll ever fill it up fully, its a good design that you can use when needed, and opt out when you don't. The interior layout with zipper pockets is great, and gives lots of options. You need to be a bit more intentional when packing it out, as it does tend to favor flatter structures, but the main volume carried my full tech pouch, smaller tech pouch, and a small zipper pocket with ease, and I have the options for the built in pocket in the front admin portion to store additional smaller items in. I also added a aftermarket pouch that attached securely to the internal MOLLE set and works like a dream with "just enough" volume left over for the QAP to handle my wallet, and 2 sets of Airpod-style wireless headphones. My only beefs are - the 210D back panel and strap backings is just as slick as you might expect, so I did get a sternum strap to help out with heavier loads. Lighter loads are one shoulder carry and it won't be an issue there. The dangle is real, so I got some web dominators to help out with that, and while thats more personal preference, I feel GR should at least give you an option for. . . something here. The shrink tubing on the 550 cord pulls stick out at awkward angles, but that's an aesthetic choice, and if I wanted I could always replace them (and may) so I won't dock too many points there. Overall, I love this bag, and think it will be at home for my uses - to the park and day trips with the kiddos, overnight and 2 day trips with the bros, and EDC when I'm schlepping it out at the J-o-b. And I know it will last until I do, or at least until I'm ready to buy my next GoRuck bag - which will be when I can get the black multicam 1000D throwback. Ball's in your court, GoRuck."
